Bayley Arts: FOCUS Exhibition

I am very excited to be invited to exhibit some of my photos at Bayley Arts as part of the FOCUS Exhibition.

Bayley Arts is an initiative of Bayley House, a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing exceptional support for people with a disability by providing NDIS Art Programs, as well as weekend courses for adults and venue hire of exhibition space to established artists.  

Bayley Arts invites visitors to experience FOCUS, an exciting group photography exhibition featuring captivating works by Bayley Arts photographers Costa Lianos, Alexandra Purcell, Victoria Batsanis, Courtney Tonkin, Wendy Murray, Bar Levin, and Cassice Watson, alongside acclaimed Melbourne fine art photographers: Liza Clements, Saville Coble, Sally Paterson, and Kaye Trathen.

Opening Event:          Friday 13 September, 6-8pm

Artist Statement

In this new series, Raw Beauty, I celebrate the stillness and beauty of some of my favourite vegetables. Often overlooked in favour of more traditional subjects like flowers, these beautiful edible models take centre stage. Through dark and moody lighting, I aim to highlight their raw, organic forms, imperfections, and all. The mushrooms and parsnips, placed in a black vase against a dark background, mimic the elegance of floral arrangements, inviting viewers to see them in a new light. The close-up images of the pumpkin, beetroot, and cabbage further emphasize the intricate details that make these vegetables just as photogenic as any bloom.
